What is patient portal?

Patient portals are a great way to give your patients access to their Electronic Health Records (EHRs). They’re also convenient for streamlining requests for prescription refills, scheduling appointments and communicating. However, patient portals can also be a big security risk.

How to secure patient data?

One of the most important steps in securing your patient data is to set password guidelines. It won’t stop all attacks, but it will make it harder for attackers to simply try a list of common or previously leaked passwords. Add another step to the login process.

Is single factor authentication bad?

Adding another step (such as a code sent by SMS or email) makes it much more difficult for bad actors to gain access to your systems. If possible, make two-factor authentication mandatory for all patients.

Is a patient portal secure?

When used correctly, patient portals are secure and convenient for everyone involved. They’re much easier to manage than paper records, and the built-in secure messaging makes HIPAA compliance simpler than things like email.

What is the purpose of the Task Force?

The purpose of the taskforce is to identify and implement initiatives that will address diversity, equity, and inclusion within our community and in our curriculum. The task force will work collaboratively with administration, faculty, staff, students, and our community at large.

How many EUAs are there?

To date, the FDA has issued 92 EUAs, which includes 12 antibody tests and 1 antigen test. The FDA has been notified that more than 245 laboratories have begun testing under the policies set forth in our COVID-19 Policy for Diagnostic Tests for Coronavirus Disease-2019 during the Public Health Emergency Guidance.

What is the task force?

The Task Force is specifically charged with creating an action plan and facilitating the implementation of each item on the action plan.

Do nursing homes have to reopen?

This also serves to help states and nursing homes reunite families with their loved ones in a safe, phased manner. CMS is recommending that nursing homes do not advance through any phases of reopening or relax any restrictions until all residents and staff have received results from a baseline test.

Frontier Recovery combines the latest evidence based addiction medicine with 12-step facilitation and linkage to chemical dependency counseling to empower patients to meet their treatment goals in substance abuse recovery.
