To sign up for a portal for your doctor office visits, call your Ascension Medical Group doctor’s office or simply talk to them when you are there for a visit. It only takes a few minutes and four simple steps to set up your personal patient portal, available anytime 24 hours a day, from your computer, tablet or mobile device!
In their most basic form, patient portals are web-based access points for patients to view medical data such as lab results and electronic medical records (EMR). But patient portals can do so much more. Practices can use patient portals that allow for communication between patients and doctors, appointment scheduling, and even bill payment.
To ensure that you are receiving Patient Portal emails please do the following: Add NextMD.com to your contact list, address list, safe list, or "Do Not Block" list. Account will be locked for 20 minutes after 4 failed login attempts. Please remember that password is case sensitive.
Many patients don’t register for the portal because it slips their mind. Having them register for the portal upon walking in allows this process to be done seamlessly within the regular intake flow. If you send an email, make sure to include a footer or signature that prompts them to sign up for the patient portal. This makes it easily available.
The “eCheck-In” activity will ask you to review and verify your personal information, just as you would if you were registering with the front desk. You will then be prompted to complete any medical questionnaires related to your visit. If at any time you cannot complete part of the process, you can cancel or tap “Finish Later” to leave the activity and save your answers. If you come back later to continue, you’ll be returned to where you left off.
After logging into your MyChart account, hover over the Messaging tab and select “Ask a Question”
If you have any questions, contact us at baptistphrquestions@bhsi.com or call our MyChart Patient Support Line at 502.253.4820 or toll-free at 1.844.764.7820 .
Select send when you are complete. You can expect a response within two business days.
If you are experiencing an urgent medical problem, call 911 or go to an Emergency Room
For example, Baptist Health supports the Apple Health Records app on iPhone , which makes it easy for patients to see their available medical data from multiple providers whenever they choose.
If you are an authorized caregiver that needs help accessing a family member’s account, you will need to contact that family member’s medical provider for support.
If you’re having issues logging into your patient portal, please contact your medical provider’s office for support.
Yes. Using the portal locator doesn’t affect your ability to use other URLs to log in to your patient portal.
If your patient portal offers bulk enrollment, it can be a great way to enroll patients who haven’t responded to your other strategies. Upload all unenrolled patient emails into the portal, then send a reminder email for patients to pick a username and password (some portals let you assign a temporary username and password).
Offering incentives can be a good way to encourage not only registration on your patient portal but also utilization of it. Consider things like offering a gift card for the first ten people who schedule appointments through the portal every month, or randomly enter newly-registered patients for a gift card drawing. Your incentives need not be extravagant. But, they can provide the extra push patients need to actively engage with the portal.
Other benefits of patient portals include: 1 Better adherence to treatment plans 2 Fewer visits to the doctor for minor issues 3 Increased patient focus on preventative care 4 Easier recordkeeping and safe storage of medical records
Let’s face it: the best way to boost patient portal engagement is to offer useful and engaging content. Use patient demographics and other information such as national health months (e.g., heart disease, breast cancer, etc.) to generate content that empowers and educates patients. Make sure patients understand that lab results and visit summaries will be delivered via the patient portal as well.
These two benefits alone are important for patients who are managing a complicated condition and need to visit multiple doctors.
One of the main reasons patients don’t sign up for a patient portal is that they truly don’t know it exists. Fix that by adding the link to sign up on every bit of correspondence you send, whether through the physical mail or email.
Patient portals are a relatively new way to improve communication between healthcare providers and their patients , with an estimated 92% of U.S. hospitals on board as of 2016.
