Although hospitals distribute the paperwork for birth certificates, they are town records and are available through the Town Clerk’s office at the town in which your baby was born.
Please be aware that this facility is a hospital-based facility of Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN), which means that the cost for certain services may be higher than those offered at non-hospital-based facilities.

Per Connecticut’s Department of Public Health rule dated June 15, 2019 (Sections 19-13-D3 (Short-term hospitals, general and special), visitors are allowed for patients who need assistance due to the specifics of their disability and may have one designated support person with them to support their disability-related needs. If hospitalized for more than one day, two support people may be permitted, provided only one support person be present at a time. Any such support person must be asymptomatic for, or not have previously been confirmed positive for, COVID-19. For more information, please visit the State’s website to view the full order.
If one of the following exceptions is present, one (1) caregiver, healthy and over the age of 18, will be allowed to accompany the patient during their outpatient visit:

An individual has a right to receive a copy of his/her Protected Health Information (PHI) in the form, format and manner requested, if readily producible in that way, or as otherwise agreed to by the individual.
A valid ID is required. Authorized legal representatives must provide appropriate documentation for verification. Please note that if you need medical records from a specific doctor outside of ECHN’s Medical Group providers, you will need to contact that doctor’s office directly.
