What is the name of the nerve that is not in the brain?

Peripheral nerve. Your peripheral nerves are those that are not in your brain and spinal cord. A disorder within your peripheral nervous system (PNS) distorts messages between your brain and the rest of your body. There are more than 100 kinds of peripheral nerve disorders affecting one or many nerves.

What is open surgery in spine?

Traditional spine surgery is performed as “open surgery,” meaning the area of focus is opened with a long incision, allowing the surgeon to view and access the area of concern. Our surgeons prefer to use a minimally-invasive surgical technique that avoids damage to the muscles surrounding the spine.
