The Department of Chaplain Services provides accredited Level 1 and 2 Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) to ministerial students, clergy, and interested lay people. Our CPE program is accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) located at 55 Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard, Suite 835, Atlanta, GA 30308. Duke Raleigh Hospital chaplains offer spiritual care, counseling, and emotional support to our patients, families, and staff. The Chaplain Services Department also offers the following services: 1 Spiritual assessment, intervention, comfort, and nurturing 2 Facilitation and support of religious practices of all faiths and spiritual paths 3 Non-judgmental listening 4 Crisis intervention 5 Advocacy for patients and staff 6 Coordination of bereavement and decedent care services 7 Collaboration with all members of the health care team 8 Consultations on advance directives, end-of-life decisions, and ethical issues
