The Hospital

Wilson Medical Center is committed to providing excellent care to our community.

The Community

Halfway between New York and Florida along I-95, Wilson is 45 miles east of Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park, and only two hours from the North Carolina coast.

Recreation

Wilson is home to historic Fleming Stadium, Wilson Tobs baseball team, the N.C. Museum of the Coastal Plain baseball museum, J. Burt Gillette Athletic Complex and The Brittany soccer tournament.

The Hospital

Haywood Regional Medical Center is comprised of a 159-bed hospital; a 54,000-square foot health & fitness center with a wide array of amenities including saunas, steam rooms, personal training and massage therapy; a three-story 44,000-square foot outpatient care center with a laboratory, imaging center including women's imaging, an outpatient surgery center; two urgent care centers open seven days a week; The Homestead, a six-bed inpatient hospice facility; and 11 multi-specialty physician clinics providing a full spectrum of services including primary care.

The Community

The residents of Haywood County are enthusiastic about the quality of life available in the community. Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Haywood County is the third largest county in Western North Carolina and home to 14 peaks with elevations of at least 6,000 feet (more than any other area east of the Mississippi).

Each year, millions of visitors are drawn to Western North Carolina by its breathtaking mountain vistas and vast array of outdoor recreational opportunities including world-class mountain biking, road biking, downhill skiing, backpacking, hiking, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, camping, fishing, tennis, disc golf, hunting, and six well-groomed golf courses, including the Bob Cupp-designed course at Laurel Ridge Country Club.
