She received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine in 1991, and went on to complete her internship in internal medicine in 1992. After completing an externship in outpatient internal medicine in Waltham, MA in 1993, Dr.Karnstedt performed her residency at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Karnstedt has been licensed in Georgia to practice medicine since 1995 and is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Women's Association. She has a special interest in women's issues and increasing physicians and patients awareness of mental health issues.
