About The Madigan Annex: Past & Present

Current day Madigan Annex is the remaining sections of the original hospital built in 1943 and opened in 1944 as a semi-permanent emergency hospital plan type, Mobilization General Hospital Type A, developed by the War Department and constructed for emergency purposes during the latter part of World War II.

Location

Madigan Annex is divided into numbered corridors or ramps used from the original hospital. Only Ramps 1 – 3 remain today. The building numbers begin with Building 9900 for Dental Command and Troop Battalion and continue through Building 9933 where Telehealth and Technology (T2) is located.

Directions

From Madigan Army Medical Center, turn off of or cross Jackson Avenue onto Madigan Avenue. Continue straight until Madigan Avenue becomes Wilson Avenue, turning left onto Lincoln Street. Turn left onto McKinley Avenue and then turn left onto Johnson Street. Parking is on the right or a little further down Johnson Street on your left.
