Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty with or without Ptosis repair (the “eyelid lift”) can improve the height of the eyelid if excess skin or droopiness of the eyelid is compromising vision.
Droopy Eyelids (Ptosis)
Blepharoplasty surgery can also treat a medical condition called ptosis (drooping eyelid), which is caused by poor muscle tone or nerve damage. Ptosis causes the eyelids to hang very low and block vision. Blepharoplasty treats drooping eyelids, but not drooping eyebrows or wrinkles.
Entropion or Ectropion
Entropion or Ectropion repair can be performed if the lower eyelids droop or sag. Symptoms of watering or discharge can often be alleviated if this repair is performed. Excisional biopsy can be performed if any suspicious lesion is present. Lacrimal drainage procedures are also performed, including punctoplasty and Mini-monoka stenting.
