Gynecology

At Downtown Women OB/GYN, we provide a full range of gynecologic services, from annual check-ups and routine Pap smears to procedures performed in our office or surgeries in the hospital.

Surgery

At Downtown Women OB/GYN, we offer a full range of surgical options to meet each patient’s individual needs. Many surgical procedures, such as D&Cs and LEEP procedures, may be done in our office. Minimally invasive surgical procedures such as laparoscopies are always considered whenever possible, as well as non-surgical alternatives.

Dr. Ilanna Loeffel prides herself on educating her patients about their bodies and health. She uses the teaching experience she gained from working with medical students to help women better understand their bodies. She says, “I like to make my patients feel comfortable to talk about the things that are bothering them without them feeling embarrassed or self-conscious about what they are saying.”

Scheduling Appointments

To schedule an appointment, please call our office Monday-Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. Our appointment staff may ask you about the nature of your visit in order to book the most appropriate appointment for you.

Canceling Appointments

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call us as soon as possible. This will allow another patient to use your appointment time. We request cancellation by 4pm on the business day prior to your appointment to avoid a no show fee of $50.

Late Appointments

Please make every effort to be on time for your appointment. We respect the time of our patients and our providers strive to stay on schedule so that you don’t have to wait long. If you arrive late for your appointment, we will try to fit you in as best we can.

Emergencies

For our patients who are experiencing urgent medical problems, same-day appointments are usually available. For medical emergencies outside of office hours, a health care provider is on call at all times and can be reached by calling our office.

Medical Records

You are entitled to copies of your medical records, whether for yourself or another medical provider. You will need to sign a medical records release authorization ( click here ), which you may fax, mail or drop off to our office. Our office will then provide a copy of your records in a timely manner for a nominal fee of up to $15 to cover costs.

Prescriptions

Prescription refills are processed only during our normal office telephone hours. Patients may follow the prompts for our prescription line, or send a message through their patient portal. Pharmacies must call by phone. We are unable to reply to faxed or electronic requests from pharmacies.

Payments

Co-payments are due at time of service. At your first appointment, we kindly request that new patients complete a credit card authorization form ( click here ), which may be used to cover balances of charges not paid or covered by your insurance.
