The reason why most patients do not want to use their patient portal is because they see no value in it, they are just not interested. The portals do not properly incentivize the patient either intellectually (providing enough data to prove useful) or financially.

As of January 1, 2019, Azalea Orthopedics requires patients to provide a credit, debit or HSA card on file at the time of service. This will enable patients to conveniently address any remaining financial responsibility after insurance has processed billed charges.
A: Go to the patient's demographics. On the left menu, click on Insurance. Select Add Insurance. Add the insurance information and at the bottom of the Add Insurance window, make sure that “Primary” is selected, but do not make the worker’s comp/auto accident claim default, and save. Now the patient has dual primary insurances. When the patient is seen for their regular condition, the default primary insurance will appear on the encounter. When the patient is seen for their worker’s comp/auto accident related condition, the worker’s comp/auto accident policy information can be selected in the insurance area.
A: Revenue Centers are a way of classifying CPT codes into groups, that can then be used to organize reports. For instance, I might want to create a Revenue Center for “Labs”. I would then tie all of my lab CPTs to the “Labs” Revenue Center. Once that is done, I can run a report for just the “Labs” Revenue Center and see all of the charges, adjustments, and payments associated with that Revenue Center.
A: First, you’ll want to make sure that you've added the insurance to the demographics, you'll go to the encounter, click on the more drop down, and select update with new patient information. Once that's done, from the encounter list, you'll select the encounter, and then click more, then select print secondary 1500. This will give you the option to print the secondary claim form for mailing.
A: There is currently not a way to transfer documents from one patient to another. You can download the document so that it saves to your computer, remove the document from the wrong patients document section (by clicking the "X") and then pull up the correct patient and "Upload" the document in that patients document section.
A: Claim Rules are rules that can be written to override the information that is printed on claims. You’ll need Claim Rules written if you have a provider that bills individually to a particular payer, a special provider ID needs to be programmed, etc.
A: Patient statements do not reflect “Hold” status credit encounters. This is by design because credits on an account may need to be reviewed, or may be due to an insurance payer, as opposed to the patient. Also, unapplied payments reflect on the patient statement, but do not prevent statements from generating. All hold status encounters and unapplied payments should be resolved prior to generating patient statements.
A: Azalea provides both a close period function and a daily close function. Closing periods assists in maintaining the integrity of your reports. Once a period is closed, both the charges and the payments from that time period cannot be manipulated without an administrator re-opening the period. While you can create an encounter for a closed period date of service, the charges will book in the open period. However, you cannot create a payment with a date that is in a closed period.
