Health History has been the number one requested Dentrix feature on MyVoice, and we listened. For starters, the new Health History module in Dentrix G7.1 and higher replaces the Medical Alerts feature. But Dentrix Health History is also a more versatile and robust tool than a simple alert manager.
The Patient Report (by Filters) option in Dentrix makes it easy for you to create custom reports and find specific patient data. When you generate reports using this feature, you can specify which information you want to see on the report, so you don’t have to search through information you don’t need to find the information you want.
(For information about each filter, consult the Dentrix G4 User’s Guide or the Dentrix G4 Reports Reference.) Click the Data Fields tab and check the data you want to include on the report. Click OK to close the Patient Report View.
The appointment's history record shows changes to its status, operatory, provider, other provider, date, time, and/or duration. On the Schedule menu, click (or tap) Calendar.

They wanted to know if DENTRIX had some kind of a Recycle Bin they could retrieve information from. There is not a way to 'undelete' an appointment. However, the office can check the Audit Trail to see who was deleted so they can reschedule it.
The List Manager window appears. To exclude a patient, right-click the patient's name, and then from the shortcut menu, click Hide Patient. The patient's name is temporarily removed from the list (until you click Refresh on the toolbar). To print the list, click Preview/Print.
You can then press CTRL+A to select all the patients on the list. Then press CTRL+C to copy the list. Open a spreadsheet, and press CTRL+V to paste the list of patients into your spreadsheet program, which you can then import into your third-party application to send an email out to your patients.
To run the Audit Trail Report, in the Office Manager, click Maintenance > Audit Trail Reports. Specify the desired options for your report and click OK. For more advice about using the Audit Trail Report, read “Fraud Prevention Starts at the Top.”
The audit log is a record of various activities performed by users in Dentrix Ascend. On the Home menu, under Reports, click (or tap) Audit log.
This is currently not a feature in DENTRIX. If you would prefer DENTRIX to function differently, please enter a Software Change Request. A possible Workaround will export it into Excel, but will still leave it in an undelimited format.

A: There are different reports in Dentrix that will show you the total number of patients in your practice. You could run a Patient List or a Practice Statistics Report. However, these reports are only looking at the patient status on the Family File. The most accurate and up-to-date report is the Practice Advisor.
Click the Show production link under the provider's name. The scheduled and actual net production appear. S = Scheduled Production. The Net Scheduled Production is the sum of the charges for the scheduled procedures, minus any discounts or insurance adjustments that apply to those procedures.
As we were developing Dentrix G7, we completed six rounds of beta testing with over 50 offices using the new features. Health History has been a boon to many of these offices as it has helped them keep better track of their patients’ health. Some of our beta testers reported the following:
In Dentrix G7, medical conditions and allergies now include more information, such as the Status (Active or Inactive) and the Reported Date.
You can open Health History by either clicking the Health History toolbar button in any Dentrix module except the Office Journal or eDex, or by clicking File, pointing to Switch To, and then clicking Health History. Click the Setup button in the toolbar. The Health History Setup dialog box consists of four tabs: General Settings, ...
To copy a patient’s health history to Clinical Notes, simply click the Copy to Clinical Note button in the Health History toolbar.
Adding medications is straightforward. In the Health History toolbar, click the Setup button. In the Health History Setup dialog box, click the Medications tab, and then click the Add button. In the Add New Medication dialog box, type a description of the medication, and then click OK .
To select a patient, in the Health History toolbar, click the Select Patient button and select the patient you want to assign the medical condition to from the Select Patient dialog box. Click the Add toolbar button, and from the menu, click Medical Condition. In the Add Medical Condition dialog box, click the Medical Condition search button. From the Select Medical Condition dialog box, select the appropriate condition, and then click OK.
Conveniently, however, since Health History fully integrates with the Prescriptions module, you can also write prescriptions from Health History with a just few mouse clicks.
For one, you may want to use a tool to create and maintain a record of your patients’ medical conditions, allergies, and medications. You may also want to record your patients’ emergency contacts, physicians, and preferred pharmacies. Now you can, in Dentrix.
Since Health History also integrates with the Prescriptions module and ePrescribe, recording and tracking the medications you prescribe is automatic. While convenient, just being able to track the medications you#N#prescribe isn’t really adequate for ensuring your patient’s overall wellness.
On the patient's Overview page, the Appointments box displays the patient's next and last appointments and the number of missed appointments.
Note: You can include inactive patients in the search results by setting the Include inactive patients switch to On.
You can locate a patient's past, future, and recare appointments from that patient's record. Then, if necessary, you can view that appointment on the schedule.
One report to consider is the Insurance Carrier List. This list will provide you with options to view basic insurance plan information including maximum and deductibles, a list of subscribers, a list of all insured patients, or a combination of this information.
If you prefer to generate a list for a range of insurance plans you could use the Patient Report (by Filters) in Letters and Custom Lists. By using this report, you could get a number of patients for a range of plans within an insurance carrier.
The Utilization Report for Dental Insurance is a great report to evaluate your office fee compared to the fee an insurance plan is allowing you to charge. This may be a good report to generate if your practice is considering dropping an insurance plan.
You can enter medical conditions, allergies, and patient-reported medications individually by selecting the Health History item you want to attach to the patient from this list of options; or you can attach multiple Health History items to a patient at once by selecting the Add Multiple option.
You should work towards having a comprehensive health history for your patients. Train your clinical team to inactivate medical conditions, allergies, and medications that no longer apply to the patient instead of deleting them. This way you’ll have a record that this condition did apply to the patient in the past.
There is an option to copy the patient’s Health History to their clinical notes. This is a time saver for your clinical team when writing their notes because they don’t have to type in all the patient’s medical conditions, allergies, and/or medications.
