A North Carolina native, Haley attended undergrad at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where she received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Spanish. Following graduation, she moved to Hickory to attend Nursing school at Lenoir Rhyne College where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She spent 4 years working in Critical Care before returning to school at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She graduated with a Masters in Science specialized in Adult and Geriatric medicine in 2013. Haley is nationally board certified as an Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She joined Parkway Internal Medicine in 2014. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband James, their twins and their two dogs.
Brad was born and raised in Northern California. He graduated from Willamette University in Oregon with a degree in Business Economics. He worked in Medical Product Sales for six years then moved to North Carolina where he received his Physician Assistant Degree from Wake Forest University Medical School. He then moved to Hickory, NC in 1995 and worked in Cardiothoracic Surgery for almost 10 years at Frye Regional Medical Center. He moved into Urgent Care and the Emergency Room before going into Internal Medicine. He is the founder of Parkway Internal Medicine which has been open since 2009. He is board certified and has advanced training in Lipidology. He also developed and runs a successful Medical Weight Loss program. He has a true passion towards educating his patients. Preventing diseases and the complications of these diseases, with a special interest in preventing heart attacks and strokes. He lives in Hickory, and enjoys fishing, dirt bikes, boating and camping.
Tanya Dyer, MSN, FNP-C. Tanya studied Nursing at Presbyterian Nursing School in Charlotte, NC and graduated with a diploma Nursing Degree in 1991. She continued to work at Presbyterian Hospital for 3 years on the Cancer Unit.

Prior to attaining a Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Gardner-Webb University, Adam Benfield earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Western Carolina University where he also played varsity baseball and was on the Dean’s list from 2010 to 2013. Adam gained medical experience caring for patients working at a family medicine practice in Fallston, NC where he provided primary care to an average of 20+ patients per day. He also worked with a team of hospitalists at Cleveland Regional Medical Center where he gained experience in the admission and hospital management of ICU, PCU, telemetry and observation level patients. Adam maintains active memberships with the North Carolina Association of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
