What is a comprehensive OB/GYN?

The physicians and nurse practitioners of Comprehensive OB/GYN provide both routine and advanced gynecologic care for a multitude of women's health care concerns. This includes annual exams, management of abnormal Pap smears, HPV testing and vaccinations, evaluation and management of heavy and irregular bleeding, management of uterine fibroids, pelvic pain, endometriosis, menopause, hormone replacement therapy, Mona Lisa Touch for vaginal atrophy and painful intercourse, and other common women's issues. We perform most of our gynecologic ultrasounds in-house for patient convenience and timely diagnosis and treatment. We perform endometrial biopsies and sonohysterograms for more invasive testing as deemed necessary. We are a large referral base for our family physician's and are happy to accommodate their patient's needs.

These procedures are typically performed via laparoscopy or at the time of a cesarean section. Recent literature has favored the complete removal of the fallopian tubes (salpingectomy) for sterilization as it has shown to decrease the overall life-time risk of ovarian cancer in women.
