The portal is an important way for us to communicate with you, but it is crucial that it is used appropriately so that we can get back to you in a timely fashion. Please remember these tips when sending portal messages:
2. KEEP IT BASIC - the portal is NOT a place for complex medical questions or opinions. It's a place for quick correspondence. This may include questions about refills, appointments, administrative concerns, and basic medical concerns that can be answered in a few brief sentences. If your question requires your provider to look back in your medical history, review your labs, or synthesize other complex medical information, you will be asked to schedule a visit.
Some insurance companies allow us to bill for portal communications if they meet certain criteria. If your messages meet this criteria and we bill for the messaging, you may be responsible for a portion of the charge, depending on your plan coverage.
