CHMC’s ED is staffed with registered nurses, emergency services assistants, mid-level providers, physicians, and behavioral health staff. Our ED has approximately 13,000 visits a year.

Outpatient Services

All visitation for outpatient services at CHMC facilities is suspended unless: -The patient needs physical assistance -The patient needs assistance due to an intellectual disability -The patient is a minor -Surgical patients are allowed (1) support person during their stay -OBGYN patients can have (1) support person in ultrasound

COVID-19 Testing

Due to travel requirements, more and more people are seeking COVID-19 testing. Most insurance companies will not pay for COVID-19 testing that is not medically necessary. Testing for recreational or travel purposes is not deemed medically necessary.
