Is masking required at CHKD urgent cares?

CHKD Urgent Cares are busy, but not operating at capacity. Your wait time may be longer than usual, but we are still seeing patients. If your child is having a medical emergency, please either call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room. If not, our Urgent Care providers are always happy to evaluate your child.

COVID-19 Information for Urgent Care Patients and Families

For the protection of our patients, and to assist in the effort to control the spread of the COVID-19, we are asking that just one parent/guardian accompany their child to any of our CHKD Urgent Care locations. In addition, we are asking patient families to save their spot online prior to their visit.

Pediatric Urgent Care

Our Urgent Care centers are staffed by board-certified pediatricians, pediatric nurses and pediatric-trained nurse practitioners and physician assistants who work all day, every day, with children. We take care of all sized kids, from toddlers to teens, and have X-ray and lab services on site.

Masking Still Required

Even though we have made progress in the battle against COVID-19, the CDC and VDH still require that everyone wear a mask inside healthcare facilities. That includes all CHKD Health System locations, including our health centers and physician practices. As always, children under the age of 2 and those who cannot wear a mask safely are exempt.

Mindfulness Coaching

A new mindfulness coaching program at CHKD is helping young athletes deal with anxiety associated with athletics. Practicing mindfulness regularly can help improve overall performance and contribute to emotional well-being over time. Breach Notification

CHKD is notifying individuals of a breach caused by an email phishing scam that allowed unauthorized access to a small number of employee email accounts that held patient information. CHKD is committed to protecting its patients’ information and has taken steps to help prevent something like this from happening in the future.

The Redmond center is designed to create a warm and friendly patient atmosphere. It has our signature design and bright new interior. We also have a lot of exam rooms, a big physical therapy space, and more. Our medical center is located near local businesses, and conveniently close to major roadways.
