The Diabetes and Endocrine Center is a state of the art physician practice that opened September 17, 2018 to provide comprehensive, high quality diabetes and endocrine services to patients in the Merrimack Valley. We are very excited to have joined together our Circle Health endocrinologists and our clinical team from the Lowell General Hospital Diabetes Management Center into one location.
A rigorous screening and triage process is in place to evaluate patients who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who have been exposed to COVID-19. These patients will be offered telemedicine visits and other care options based on their specific needs.
The Diabetes and Endocrine Center is proud to be affiliated with Lowell General Hospital. Our patients can seek hospital services at both the Main Campus and the Saints Campus.
All patients will be brought into an exam room immediately after check-in. If there is a small wait, our waiting area has been set up so that safe social distancing is achieved.
All patients coming into the office will be instructed to wear a mask. If a patient does not have a mask, we will provide one. Prior to entry, patients will be instructed to sanitize their hands and we will take their temperature. If a patient has an abnormal temperature, we will ask the patient to wait in their vehicle while the office speaks with their provider about next steps.

The Diabetes-Endocrinology Center of WNY has the largest insulin pump program in the Buffalo-Niagara area, with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics on pumps. Patients come from all walks of life, and range in age from young school-age children to retirees in their 80s.
Pump training is generally done in two, three-hour sessions , with the first being a saline trial. Patients already on a pump who are upgrading to a new model usually require only one training session. All pump training is done at 705 Maple Road in Williamsville by nurse educators who are also certified pump trainers.
Back-up equipment, such as syringes or pens is still necessary. Blood glucose still has to be checked at least four times each day. Pumps and supplies are expensive, but most insurance companies pay approximately 80 percent of the cost.
It’s all about balance. While managing your blood glucose levels, you must take into account what you eat and drink, along with how much you exercise. What you choose to eat, how much you eat, and when you eat are all important in keeping your blood glucose level in a healthy range .
The Diabetes-Endocrinology Center of WNY helps patients improve the quality of their lives and health through proper management of and education about their particular disease states.
At the Diabetes-Endocrinology Center of WNY, a certified diabetic educator and registered dietitian consult with patients about the clinical and nutritional aspects of their treatment and lifestyle. They work as a team, alongside the patient, to obtain optimal results.
The Center also treats other endocrine disorders such as thyroid disease and metabolic disorders, just to name a couple.
