When should a child be seen at the hospital?

Typically, we like to see your baby after birth while in the hospital and then at age 3 weeks, and 2, 4, 6, and 9 months. In their second year, we like to see your child at 12, 15, and 18 months. From age 2 and up, we hope to see your child annually with an additional visit at 30 months. These recommendations can be modified by you and your pediatrician if there are concerns or special needs that should be addressed.

What is a medical home?

Medical Home is a team-led, patient-centered approach to healthcare, where the patient is the most important player on their healthcare team. The patient and the Medical Home team develop a plan of care created specifically for the patient, focusing on wellness and prevention, keeping the patient connected with the healthcare team and coordinating care with other healthcare providers. Bozeman Health Pediatrics has been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Physician Practice Connections—Patient-Centered Medical Home program for using evidence-based, patient-centered processes that focus on highly coordinated care and long-term participator relationships.

What is behavioral health?

Our Behavioral Health Specialist works collaboratively with your child’s primary care provider to identify social-emotional concerns early and provide parenting strategies to support healthy development. In addition to preventative work during early childhood, brief counseling is offered to parents and patients to address current mental health symptoms and support the development of coping skills. By addressing potential mental health and behavioral health concerns early, families are provided the opportunity to identify supports and engage in services early in their child’s development.

Troy Couture, MD

I'm very excited to be a part of Hatch Pediatrics. For me, this is the perfect atmosphere to care for children of all ages and their families.

Margot Gottschalk, MD

I moved to Bozeman with my husband and our three young children in the summer of 2019, to pursue a dream. We loved Montana since the moment we first stepped foot in the state, and knew this was the perfect environment to raise our family.

Brandi McWalter, Clinical Nurse Manager

I'm a Licensed Practical Nurse and the Clinical Nurse Manager at Hatch Pediatrics. I have been a pediatric nurse for 15 years and I love it! I like being silly with kids and also being able to quickly draw blood and perform other procedures to make a visit easier for a patient. I'm originally from South Carolina.

Jessica Herrin, RN

I grew up in Helena, MT, the oldest of five siblings. My mom was a nurse and I always felt that would be a good path for me as well. I graduated from MSU with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing then started working on the medical floor.

Brynn Turcotte, Lead Medical Assistant

I’m a Licensed Practical Nurse and Certified Lactation Counselor. I'm originally from Bozeman. I grew up in an Army family and have lived in 9 different states and 2 different countries. I currently live in Belgrade with my husband and twin 13-year-old boys. I have worked in pediatrics for 8 years and became a nurse in 2020.

Breeanna Micech, Registered Medical Assistant

I was born and raised here in Bozeman, MT. I started at MSU Gallatin College in 2014 and graduated in 2017 as a Registered Medical Assistant. My hobbies include drawing, painting, and photography. When not at work I enjoy spending time with family/friends and exploring the great outdoors with my two pups either hiking or camping.
