An echocardiogram (echo) is a graphic outline of the heart's movement. During an echo test, ultrasound (high-frequency sound waves) from a hand-held wand placed on your chest provides pictures of the heart's valves and chambers and helps the sonographer evaluate the pumping action of the heart.

How long does it take to get a referral from a primary care office?

Since most primary care offices and insurance carriers cannot process a referral in less than 7 days, please contact the primary care office well in advance of your appointment date here. Appointments will be rescheduled if required referrals are not received in the office by the time of your visit.

What to bring to a medical visit?

Bring your insurance cards. Bring your copay or deductible at the time of the visit. Bring current medical records including any recent diagnostic testing. Referrals. It is the patient’s responsibility to be familiar with their policy benefits and to know if authorization or referral is required.

Can you refilled meds at Bay Area Heart Center?
