Obtaining a Medical Cannabis Card

A medical provider must recommend medical cannabis as a treatment option for one of the state qualifying conditions. Then, registration paperwork (available here) needs to be completed and submitted to the New Mexico Department of Health’s Medical Cannabis Program. You’ll need a New Mexico state issued ID to register.

Keeping a log of your cannabis medication can be a helpful tool for finding therapeutic dose; which is defined as the amount of medication needed to achieve relief or desired effect. The amount of active ingredients in each type of cannabis and product is not always consistent.

Single Sign-On

You can now use a single set of credentials to access all of your personal Athena patient portal accounts, even if you have an athena health account with a health system or doctor's office outside of UT Health Austin. This grants you access to and management of all of your associated online accounts using just one email and password.

Step 3: Select the purple log-in button on the UT Health Austin patient portal screen

The log-in screen may look a little different, but no new email or password is needed. You will use your current email and password to activate your athena health account. You must complete a one-time setup, which includes verifying a recovery phone number to better protect your account. You will also be prompted to confirm your user demographics.

What does it mean when Athena portals are not listed?

If one or more of the above portals do not appear, this means you do not have an existing record within that portal. You may also have access to additional portals that are not listed here if you have an athena health account with a health system or doctor’s office outside of UT Health Austin. You will only be able to engage with those portals that contain existing records that pertain to you.
