Does ANHC accept Medicaid?

In addition to our Sliding Fee Discount Program, ANHC accepts all insurance plans, including private health insurance, Medicaid, Denali KidCare, Medicare, and TriCare. We can help you sign up for health insurance and public assistance programs.

What is an ANHC?

ANHC is a medical group practice designed to meet the health care needs of Athens residents. We specialize in Family Medicine and Pediatric Nursing, while continuously examining the services we provide and what is needed in the community.

What is acute care?

Acute care is a branch of secondary health care where a patient receives active but short-term treatment for a severe injury or episode of illness, an urgent medical condition, or during recovery from surgery. In medical terms, care for acute health conditions is the opposite from chronic care, or longer term care.

What is primary care provider?

A primary care provider is the first contact to meet your health care needs. Primary care physicians provide preventive health services and basic or initial diagnosis and treatment. When other specialists need to be involved, primary care providers coordinate your care among the various specialties.

Chronic care refers to medical care which addresses pre-existing or long term illness, as opposed to acute care which is concerned with short term or severe illness of brief duration.
