What do I need to bring for my first visit?

New patients must bring identification, your referral and insurance information . If under 18, a legal guardian must be present with you.

Do I need to be early for my scheduled appointment time?

If you are a new patient and you completed the patient forms prior to your arrival, then you will only need to be here 10-15 minutes early. If you have not completed the forms, please arrive 30-45 minutes early.

What clothing should I wear on the day of my doctor’s visit?

Wear loose fitting clothing; the doctor must be able to examine the area without restriction.

What information should I bring for the doctor?

Bring a detailed list of medications, past medical history, doctor’s notes, x-rays, and MRIs.

When do I use heat on my injury?

You would only use heat for 10-15 minutes when the injury is no longer acute. Heat helps to restore range of motion and decrease soft tissue stiffness.

What happens if I need an X-Ray or an MRI?

We have X-ray and MRI onsite at Coastal Orthopedics Sports Medicine & Pain Management.
