The DEA 2020 Emerging Threat Report ( https://lnkd.in/dMvtCCK) noted an ~157% increase in identifications of designer benzodiazepines in 2020 compared to 2019. Of novel psychoactive substances (NPS), the designer benzodiazepine class of NPS showed the greatest percent increase in identifications from 2019 to 2020 with flualprazolam and etizolam representing ~81% of identifications. Flualprazolam has been identified in illicit counterfeit alprazolam pills and been involved in overdose deaths across the country. The use of NPS will go undetected when providers only test for traditional drug class panels. Aegis offers industry-leading testing options for multiple classes of NPS including designer benzodiazepines. Learn more now: https://lnkd.in/d5jzjAF
