What are the hours of operation for Adena Regional Medical Center?

All hospital entrances and doors are open 6 a.m.–9 p.m. daily. If you exit outside of these times, you will have to re-enter through the Emergency Department, the only entrance to the hospital open 24 hours a day. Valet parking is available at the Adena Regional Medical Center at no charge.

What to Bring

Please only pack personal items that you will need during your hospital stay, like a robe or reading material. It’s also helpful for your caregivers to have a complete list of medications you’re taking.

Food and Nutrition

Good nutrition is the cornerstone to maintaining good health and recovering from illness. Your diet depends on your medical condition and may change throughout your stay from a regular heart healthy diet to meals meant to control blood sugar for diabetics.

Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy

If you need advice on how to best manage your diet for diabetes, cardiac disease, eating disorder, renal disease, cancer, malnutrition or sports nutrition, Adena can provide nutrition therapy. To schedule an appointment for nutrition therapy, call 740-779-7711.

Mail Services

Incoming mail for our patients is delivered daily. If you are discharged and receive mail, we will forward to your home address. If you want to send mail during your stay, our staff can place stamped mail in our mailroom. Books of stamps or singles are available in the gift shop.

Interpreter Services

If you have limited ability in speaking English, Adena can provide interpretive services. Our interpreters can provide communication with health care providers through most foreign languages and American sign language. If these services are needed, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance.

Chapel and Pastoral Care

Our hospitals have a chapel and offer pastoral care. Caregivers at each location can help patients request a visit from the hospital chaplain.

Visiting Hours

Visiting hours are 8 a.m.–8 p.m. daily. Specialized areas, like intensive care, have more restricted visiting hours. If you aren’t sure what area of the hospital your loved one is staying, please call us at 740-779-7500 to double check your patient’s visiting hours.

Parking

Shuttle Service

Adena Regional Medical Center offers on-demand shuttle service to patients and visitors.

Gift Shop

Our gift shop is available for patients, families, visitors and staff and offers a variety of gift items, reading materials and snacks.

Flowers

Flowers can also be purchased at the gift shop. If you are having flowers or balloons delivered, remember: only Mylar balloons are permitted in the hospital, and flowers are not allowed in the intensive care unit.

Smoking

Adena Health System is smoke-free. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside or on the property of any Adena Health System facility.

Cafeteria

The Adena Regional Medical Center Cafeteria offers a wide variety of items, including soups, salads, main dishes, special features and desserts. The menu varies on a daily basis and we post nutritional information on many of our heart healthy options.
