Food and Nutrition

Good nutrition is the cornerstone to maintaining good health and recovering from illness. Your diet depends on your medical condition and may change throughout your stay from a regular heart healthy diet to meals meant to control blood sugar for diabetics.

Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy

If you need advice on how to best manage your diet for diabetes, cardiac disease, eating disorder, renal disease, cancer, malnutrition or sports nutrition, Adena can provide nutrition therapy. To schedule an appointment for nutrition therapy, call 740-779-7711.

Mail Services

Incoming mail for our patients is delivered daily. If you are discharged and receive mail, we will forward to your home address. If you want to send mail during your stay, our staff can place stamped mail in our mailroom. Books of stamps or singles are available in the gift shop.

Interpreter Services

If you have limited ability in speaking English, Adena can provide interpretive services. Our interpreters can provide communication with health care providers through most foreign languages and American sign language. If these services are needed, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance.

Chapel and Pastoral Care

Our hospitals have a chapel and offer pastoral care. Caregivers at each location can help patients request a visit from the hospital chaplain.

Click the Appointments tab. Your scheduled appointments will appear listed under Upcoming Appointments . top

How to sign out of a portal?

Click the Sign Out link at the top right of the screen. Alternatively, if your keyboard remains idle for 10 minutes or more, you will receive a pop-up window asking if you are still actively using the portal. If you do not click the OK button, you will be signed out automatically. Any information you have typed and not saved or sent will be lost.

What happens if you give someone a power of attorney?

If you have given someone medical power of attorney or if someone is your legal guardian, that person can exercise your rights and make choices about your health information.

It is at your provider's discretion to make test results available. Your provider must authorize the release of your test results in order for them to post to your Patient Portal account.
