With a patient portal, you can:
For patient safety, appointments are required for all clinic visits. Patients should call 734-764-8320 to be scheduled and to be screened for COVID-19.
Students, do you know that University Health Service can be one of your best campus resources?
UHS is here for you. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, UHS remains open to serve you. As always, our primary concern is your safety and well-being, and we are offering telehealth and virtual services for your convenience and protection.
Knowing what type of health care you need can save you time and money.
Save time, call for Nurse Advice! If you are a currently enrolled U-M student or other UHS patient, you can call for advice, day or night, which may help you avoid a trip to UHS, the ER or an urgent care facility.
The questions you ask become part of the patient’s medical record, so it is important you ask only questions about their health while viewing their information through proxy. This helps make sure your questions are sent to the correct health care provider.
Gaining proxy access requires approval from the University of Michigan Health System, and sometimes additional information may be required to make sure only those who should be able to see a patient’s information gain access.
The University of Michigan is dedicated to protecting the information of our patients, and the proxy process was designed to meet state laws and ensure privacy. Parents of children ages 0-10 obtain full access to their child’s information.
This allows a parent, guardian or other designated individual (like a spouse, family member, or friend) to log into their personal MyUofMHealth account, and then connect to the information regarding a family member or friend. Because of the sensitive nature of medical information, each adult must establish their own MyUofMHealth.org account, and partners cannot share access without requesting proxy access.
Gaining proxy access requires approval from the University of Michigan Health System, and sometimes additional information may be required to demonstrate legal authority to access health information from another patient’s portal. You will be contacted if this is the case.
Adults who grant another adult user access to their portal is able to decide if the access is full or limited. Once you have obtained proxy access to another patient’s portal information, you may ask questions regarding their health using secure messaging.
