You have the right to expect that medical information regarding your care will be treated as confidential, and McLaren Health Care has the obligation to safeguard your records against unauthorized disclosure. We offer two ways for you to receive your medical records.
McLaren Health Care and McLaren Port Huron have been using an electronic medical record system for many years. An electronic medical record is a national standard of health care practice to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency by following consistent documentation guidelines.
The McLaren Port Huron Patient Portal (“My McLaren Chart”) is a website that provides our patient’s web-based access to portions of their medical record. You must be the child’s parent or legal guardian to access the child’s “My McLaren Chart” Account.
My McLaren is a secure online portal where patients can access their medical information and become a partner with us in managing their health. At your next visit to a McLaren facility (hospital, physician office or outpatient facility) please provide your email at registration.
A complete inpatient, outpatient surgery or emergency record of each patient's care, treatment and progress is kept in the Medical Records Department.

X-Rays can be given in film or CD form. Unless requested, x-rays will be on a CD. McLaren Greater Lansing may charge for copies.
Information that is automatically added includes lab and test results, clinical summaries and plans of care. In addition, you can enter your own information, such as medications and immunizations, to keep track of all of your medical information in one place.

McLaren Port Huron has contracted HEALTHPORT to do its copying of medical records. This national copy company is fully insured and licensed to handle confidential information. Any questions about the status of your request can be directed to the HEALTHPORT REPRESENTATIVE at (810) 985-2694.
Due to Federal and State guidelines, McLaren Port Huron is unable to permit “My McLaren Chart” access to parents or legal guardians for children age 12 and above; however, your right to request traditional medical records has not changed.
You must be the child’s parent or legal guardian to access the child’s “My McLaren Chart” Account. Due to the sensitive nature of health information, your identity and legal authority to access a child’s record will need to be verified before access can be granted.
